Winning Race Nights at Kempton Park

Winner of the sixth race

It was a blustery warm evening at the races as the media from all over London were welcomed by the staff at Kempton. As we arrived at the racecourse we came shoulder to shoulder with the horses in the paddock on show before the first race. Seeing the horses up close you can’t help admire the physicality of the horses, and it's a wonderful opportunity to pick your horse for the first race. So with glass of wine in hand, we watched the sun set from the balconies as the first race bolted out from the blocks. It must have been beginner’s luck - two of the Time & Leisure team won on the first race. With six races over the course of the evening there is ample time to relax in between races to enjoy the buffet in the hospitality boxes and of course place your bet for the next race. As the sun set, the bets went up and the excitement built. By the sixth race, we were all connoisseurs at betting if not winning. Our Sutton & Epsom editor Chris Wood won on the sixth race, and he presented the trophy on behalf of Time & Leisure to the winner. By Lucy Kane MD Time & Leisure
