Sutton In Bloom, set up by Sutton Council and sponsored by Woodcote Green Nurseries, reached its climax when judges announced the winners of the 2007 competition.
This year’s overall winner of Best Front Garden was Heather Ridge, pictured in her garden in Clarence Road, Sutton. Other winners included the residents of Greenway, in Wallington, for the Best Community Garden, Sutton Business Centre for Best Business Frontage, and Michael and Angela King for Best Allotment Garden. St Dunstan’s Primary School in Cheam bounced back from the effects of a devastating blaze on an adjoining building site to win Best Wildlife Garden.
Robin Hood Junior School was top of the crop for the second year running when it won Best School Garden – sponsored by Times Square Shopping Centre. Youngsters from the school in Thorncroft Road, Sutton, dug their way to victory in stunning fashion – developing three separate areas in the school as an allotment, eco-garden and formal garden.
