Taking place on Sunday 30 March at 8am (don’t forget the clocks go forward!), this hugely successful event attracts over 5,500 competitors of all ages and level of ability including many well-known faces, all starting and finishing in the heart of Kingston Town Centre.
Amongst the many supporters lining the streets to cheer on the competitors this year, will be Alastair Campbell, former Communications Director for Tony Blair, helping raise funds and awareness of Leukaemia Research, official charity of the event, who commented: “I ran this event in 2006. As one of the first running events of the year, it was the ideal opportunity for me to improve my fitness for the triathlons I was taking part in for my charity later on, whilst many of the other entrants were using the event as a perfect ‘warm up’ for the London Marathon a couple of weeks later.”
This flat picturesque looped course, offers either an 8 or 16 mile race. It starts in Kingston’s historic town centre and then takes in the banks of the River Thames, up to Hampton Court Palace, on into Thames Ditton and back into Kingston.
Entry is only £18 per person for the 16 mile run and £17 for the 8.2 mile run – there’s still time to take part, but hurry as the closing date is Saturday 22nd March. For more details or to enter visit www.humanrace.co.uk or email info@humanrace.co.uk .
