The latest winter trends
Winter is often a time where fashion gets compromised for warmth and comfort but Croydon’s Centrale Shopping Centre is here to help guide fashionistas everywhere towards a winter proof wardrobe straight from the catwalk.
Animal prints been lingering in the trend background for the past year but this season the jungle has leaped back onto the runway with a vengeance to be this winter’s key trend. The trend is dominating from the catwalk right through to the high street. There are no limits when it comes to animal prints which can be combined with bold colours and contrasting prints. For day-to-evening glamour try teaming up these boots (£120 from Aldo, Centrale) with some on-trend coloured jeans.
The cape has been slowly appearing on the trend radar for a while now but this year it has claimed it official entry as every woman’s fashion staple for the winter months. From fitted to flowing, the cape allows every fashionista to add a touch of Superwoman style into their wardrobe while battling the windy winter. The fashion experts offer a variety of capes for a more sophisticated and savvy style. Check out House of Fraser (Centrale and Epsom’s Ashley Centre).
Textured fabrics are packing a sensuous punch this season. Velvet is a firm leader, followed by lace, and sheer silks. The key is to play with textures by mixing them up. Marry lace with sheer silk or velvet. Check out Whistles lace insert silk blouse in dark green, a beautiful example of playful textures. For a dressier feel Boutique at Jaeger have a wonderful sheer/solid stripe pussy bow blouse in black and a midi dress in the same fabric.
