When you stand on an underground station how often do you gaze at the rails and see mice running around on the track? These mice have a secret life. They live under the station and have many a good meal off the bits of food that we throw onto the line. Whole families live there in peace and quiet. But there is one mouse that yearns for adventure – Tommy. So Tom makes the best use of the trains that come in and out of the station he hops on board and visits exciting places in London and in other lands.
His first adventure was when he visited the All England Tennis Club. He met the tennis mice that live under the stands and want to hear all about his adventures, he visited the changing rooms (and nearly got squashed) and went on to the Centre Court to see the tennis where he appeared on television and became the most famous mouse in the land.
Tommy’s next adventure is when he goes Christmas shopping at Harrods. He meets the Harrods mice who collect all the discarded toys and sweets that the children drop in the toy shop. He flies a helicopter, has a train ride and all kinds of fun. Tom meets Father Christmas which gives Father Christmas a shock as he is frightened by mice. He is told off by Holly – Tommy’s friend who takes him all the way back to Earls Court station.
Open to ages 4-10 years, prize giving will be on 18 February at 12 noon at the Tennis Gallery on Arthur Road, Wimbledon. www.thetennisgallery.co.uk
