Paul Jones and Digby Fairweather’s Half Dozen play at Landmark Arts Centre Teddington for one night only on Saturday 18 February www.landmarkartscentre.org. Thanks to the generosity of the Landmark Arts Centre we have a pair of tickets worth £30 to give away to one lucky reader.
About the artists: Paul Jones has been an icon of the blues and pop scene since the 1960s when he was the original lead singer with the super group Manfred Mann. He was at the forefront of the ‘60s pop revolution, with million selling records alongside the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones & The Animals and he also co-composed the signature tune for famous pop programme Ready, Steady Go! In the late ‘60s he turned actor, and n 1979 he founded The Blues Band, which helped kick start a British blues revival and for over twenty years he has presented his blues programme on BBC RADIO 2. Digby Fairweather became a fulltime jazzman in l977 and has been in the music business for over thirty years. He worked with, amongst others, Dave Shepherd, the Midnite Follies Orchestra, the co-operative quartet 'Velvet' (formerly Stephane Grappelli's Trio) and the Pizza Express All Stars He continues to lead Britain’s most exciting jazz band his Half Dozen. First formed in 1995 the Half Dozen formed a celebrated partnership with George Melly,which only ended when Melly died.
