St George’s Day is on Friday 23 April.
Each year, celebrations and events to mark our patron saint’s day increase in number - there is even a national campaign to make St George’s Day a bank holiday!
London Wasps will celebrate St George’s Day this year with a special rugby game against Bath at Twickenham Stadium on Saturday 24 April. This will be a thrilling and fiercely-contested rugby match, and a complete programme of entertainment is planned around the game to make this an exciting day out for all the family. For each ticket sold, £1 will go to Help for Heroes supporting service personnel injured in combat.
London Wasps are offering the chance to win 30 tickets to the St George’s Day match to any group who can demonstrate that they will be putting on a fun and creative St George’s Day event. This could be a party, a show or celebratory activity. Any group can enter – a school class, a scout group, girl guides, darts team, dance group, book club, a sports group or simply a group of friends.
To enter: All you have to do is explain in no more than 250 words what your St George’s Day Event will be, why you are celebrating and why your group is special. You can submit images to support your entry. An independent judge will award the tickets to the group with the best idea for St George’s Day celebrations.

Closing date: 1 April 2010
- The prize is for one group to win 30 tickets to the London Wasps v Bath game on Saturday 24 April. No cash or prize alternative.
- Judges decision is final.
- Winners will be notified after closing date of 1st April. If not claimed within the time frame stated another winner will be chosen.
- Prize is not transferable, may not be re-sold and are subject to availability.
