The astonishingly successful X-Men franchise continues this June with this ‘prequel,’ or what has popularly become known as a ‘reboot,’ in which we follow familiar characters in their earlier days. Set in 1962, it charts the beginning of the saga, following close friends Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, long before they grew up to be better known as archenemies Professor X and Magneto. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, following his success with another super hero movie Kick Ass, the movie boasts a cast full of some of the hottest talent in Hollywood right now, including Mad Men’s January Jones, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne and British actors James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult. Bad Teacher
After impressing audiences with his performance in The Social Network, Justin Timberlake turns his attention to comedy this month in Bad Teacher, in which he joins comedy stalwarts Cameron Diaz and Jason Siegel for this tale of a foul-mouthed teacher who decides to get breast implants to impress a fellow teacher on whom she has a crush. Unfortunately, that teacher is already in a relationship with one of her colleagues. Bad Teacher is unlikely to prove taxing on the brain but its comedy credentials should guarantee plenty of laughs. Timberlake has already proved he’s more than adept at comedy on Saturday Night Live, while writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg are best known for their work on The American Office.
