ingston’s Christmas countdown extravaganza begins on Thursday 17 November with the big Christmas
Lights Switch On sponsored by Chelsea FC. There will be lots to see around the Town Centre from 3-7pm including The Bouncing Elves, a giant walking Christmas tree and two stilt-walking Candy Canes. You can also enjoy carol singing by local school choirs in The Market Place from 4-6pm - and Santa will be switching on Kingston’s lights at 6pm!
The Bentall Centre Superheroes and Bears will also appear on 17 November. In Bentalls, Santa’s Grotto will open after the Christmas lights Switch On, on 17 November – the Grotto will be open until 9pm (check
www.bentalls.
co.uk for future Grotto opening times); and from 10 December, you can make an appointment for Breakfast with Santa here - this is a very exclusive, private audience with Father Christmas for breakfast and party games in Frank B’s Diner before the store opens. Santa’s Breakfast is on 10, 11, 17 and 18 December; booking is essential - phone the elves on 020 8541 6934. Meanwhile John Lewis is fast-tracking children’s letters straight to Santa – there’s a post box in the toy department on the first floor here from 12 November to 11 December.
Markets are a major feature in Kingston’s Christmas. From 11 November until 28 December, the Traditional Christmas Market gets everyone in the Christmas spirit by selling gifts and craftware, as well as hot
