Local Calendar Girls

The stage production of Calendar Girls has celebrated unprecedented success since opening at the Chichester Festival Theatre in 2008, moving to the West End and touring the UK.

The play is based on the true story of a group of WI ladies who embarked on a charity nude calendar to help raise awareness of Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, after John, the husband of one of the WI member's, died from the disease. The calendar was a huge success - more than what the group had planned - and was turned into a film starring Helen Mirren, Celia Imrie and Julie Walters, as well as the hit play which transferred to the West End and is still touring the country. For the first time, amateur rights have been released for an 18 month period from September, and three local groups will be staging the heart-warming play this autumn.
