It’s that time of year again... party season!
We’ve all been to the usual parties where people stand around chatting and drinking, and while these are fun, you can do so much more to make your party memorable and unique.
One way to host a memorable party is to include a theme. A themed party creates a unique atmosphere and can set the mood of a party. Even your most conservative guests will be happy to take part in a classic black and white theme. For a bit of Hollywood glamour, roll out the red carpet and ensure all guests have champagne in hand. Take your friends back to the origins of blues by hosting a New Orleans blues themed party. You could even travel back in time to the roaring 20’s or head underground for a wartime-themed Blitz party. Other themes to consider are luau, masquerade and fire and ice.
London boasts some unusual venues that are sure to set the scene for an unforgettable party. The Icebar by Icehotel is the only ice bar in the UK open annually. It’s kept at a stunningly chilly -5 degrees and made completely of ice. You can enjoy warm meals and cool drinks with your friends in one of the coldest bars in London. If you’d rather keep warm, the famous Tower Bridge possesses stunning views of the Thames, Tower of London and St. Paul’s Cathedral. To take your party to new heights, literally, this is a venue to consider. Other ideas for unique venues include The London Dungeon, The London Aquarium, Churchill War Rooms and The Armourers Hall.
Another way to make your party memorable and unique is to add an interactive element. A murder mystery party is one way to get your guests involved, and with Halloween around the corner this may be the perfect thing to spook your guests. Zombies, vampires, witches and wizards are all themes that can be used to provide an impressive Halloween, or you could base your party on a mysterious local murderer – does Jack the Ripper ring any bells? This can be done with small or large groups and costumes are optional.
For smaller gatherings, party games can add an extra element of fun. A few tried and tested party games to entertain guests are Dixit, Time’s Up! and Werewolf.
If none of this sounds like your cup of tea, and you and your friends enjoy a good old-fashioned sing-along, karaoke options these days are endless, from hired DJs to karaoke bars to Xbox games!
