New Baby

It seems no matter what road you turn down in Kingston, you’ll see an advertisement for a loft conversion being completed, some maintenance or home improvement being carried out.

The fact is most people in Kingston don’t want to leave the area and in order to accommodate their growing families and making the most of space; it’s financially savvy to extend and stay put. We also decided an extension would be the way forward. We did the research, had plans drawn up and even found the builders we wanted to use, but with a new addition to the family it simply wasn’t practical – the idea (for now) has been put on the back burner.

There’s no doubt we’re fortunate to be living in a desirable area with great schools, outside space and shopping of course! Also, being that bit further outside of London means a decent sized garden comes as standard. It’s such a shame the weather hasn’t been consistent so far this summer, as lovely evenings in the garden having a barbeque are few and far between.

However, when we had that glorious spell a few weeks ago, getting hold of our gardener was near impossible. This meant Michael had to mow the lawn which is always a bit hit and miss, but it was either that or risk our son getting lost in the overgrown jungle the garden had become. While he just about avoided cutting through the power cable, I helped out by doing some weeding. It was well worth it, as our son had a great time, especially as there haven’t been many opportunities for him to play around in the garden. We’ve even been investigating the best play houses to purchase, along with some good outdoor toys, so any suggestions would be gratefully received!
