Merton

Merton Voluntary Service Council (MVSC), together with the voluntary sector in the borough, have mobilised a volunteer taskforce to help isolated households and those at risk from COVID-19. Anyone who puts themselves forward may be asked to support people who are currently unable to leave their home. If you are able to volunteer, please contact volunteer@mvsc.co.uk to offer your services. If you think you might need help, or you know someone who does, email help@mvsc.co.uk or call 020 8685 2272 between 10am–4pm, Monday–Friday.

The Merton Giving Coronavirus Fund will provide monetary grants to charities working locally to help support volunteers to help isolated households and those at risk from COVID-19. You can give online here.

NHS

The nation is looking for up to 250,000 volunteers to help up to 1.5 million people who have been asked to shield themselves from coronavirus because of underlying health conditions.

  • delivering medicines from pharmacies;
  • driving patients to appointments;
  • bringing them home from hospital;
  • or making regular phone calls to check on people isolating at home.
