Christmas fairs and markets 2020

The best of where to shop local this year – online and in-person

Christmas fairs & markets are our favourite go-to’s for seasonal shopping. They showcase talented artisans, support local businesses, and many raise money for charity. This year, some will still take place with in-person events, others are going online, but here’s our pick of what’s on in Surrey and  London… we’ll be adding to this page as we hear more announcements so check back regularly.

IN PERSON Markets

 Love Wimbledon Christmas Market (pictured), 

With twinkling lights and festive music, pick up some fabulous treats for the seasons ahead. It’s also dog-friendly! The Market will be operating between 11am – 6pm on weekends between Saturday 21 November and Sunday 20 December – as well as on Fridays over the final two weekends. OSO Christmas Fair

Find a wealth of seasonal goodies at the OSO Christmas Fair, and to snap up some extra special Christmas gifts. Entrance is free and the cafe will be serving festive treats. Friday December 4th, 1pm-6pm, Saturday December 5th, 10am-3pm

Dorking Halls

In the Grand Hall at Dorking Halls, visitors will find a great selection of jewellery, ceramics, artwork, beauty and candles, fashion, home and gift, food and drink, all perfect for gifting. Curated by Dapper & Suave are supporting Cherry Trees as this year’s charity and you will be able to buy raffle tickets from them on the day to win prizes donated by the stallholders. 6 Dec.

Visitors need to book a free timed entry ticket from Dorking Halls website, with times available between 11am & 4pm.

Gate Street Barn, Guildford, 9 December

For some last minute shopping this year, head to Guildford’s Gate Street Barn, where visitors will find a great selection of jewellery, ceramics, artwork, beauty, scented and edible good and much more – all perfect for gifting. Gate Street will also provide food from their farm as well as beverages on the day.

Visitors need to book a free timed entry ticket from Eventbrite.

Wimbledon Artisan Market, Ongoing

Combine your afternoon wanderings with a visit to Wimbledon Rugby Club over the coming weekends. Between 9am and 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays, you’ll find stalls selling edible artisan goodies, from indulgent cupcakes to locally produced cheeses. Kings’s College School, Wimbledon

Browse through the shops, by category or by alphabetical order, and let yourself be inspired for holiday gifts. You will find anything from fun art to unique jewellery, for everyone from your new puppy to your neighbour. Head online here.

Landmark Arts Centre, Festive Emporium, 19 November to 6 December

Over 600 products, including limited edition prints, contemporary crafts and more one-of-a-kind gift ideas from local artists, will be available during the Landmark Art Centre’s festive offering.
