PINNACLE PILATES

The Putney Club, 63 Upper Richmond Road, SW15 2RD 0300 050 0061 www.pinnaclepilates.co.uk

What makes your business stand out? Our boutique studio is an intimate and calm sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of busy Putney. We can all trace our lineage back to the original mat and reformer exercises of Joseph Pilates. We also work in conjunction with local health practitioners such as osteopaths, chiropractors and physiotherapists to support our clients’ wellbeing holistically. We provide bespoke private or duet sessions showing our commitment to quality. Our enthusiasm for healthy movement is also extended to other Pilates and fitness trainers where we provide a collaborative experience for teachers who want to reinforce their teaching methods. We believe that our devotion to the integrity of the work, the quality of our teaching and our passion to share Pilates with everyone is what draws people to us.

What do your clients value most about your services? Our clients enjoy the personalised workouts and attention to their individual needs and specific body imbalances. They like the studio being a supportive environment that encourages their personal success. Our dedication to empowering people to use Pilates to enhance the quality of their everyday lives, makes them realise that we’re in it for the long term and that’s what keeps them coming back.

What do you enjoy most about what you do? All three of us are ardent about the Pilates method and how it changes peoples’ lives. It’s not just about the exercises and making people fit. We’re the embodiment of our work both in and out of the studio. Not only are we continually looking to better our skills as movement educators, but we thrive on remaining students and always learning from each other, our clients and those who are experts in their field.

The Furniture Heroine

AMY DHALA owns Lovestruck interiors which is a bespoke furniture painting studio based in Wimbledon Art Studios.

What do you enjoy most about what you do? I love the variety; every commission means a different requirement. It could be scouring antiques markets at dawn for a specific piece of furniture or advising on paint colours and techniques for a well- loved family heirloom ready for a revamp.

LOVESTRUCK INTERIORS

Studio 6, Wimbledon Art Studios, Riverside Yard, Riverside Road, SW17 0BB 07976 707 465 www.lovestruckinteriors.com hello@lovestruckinteriors.com

What do your clients value most about your services? The number of repeat and word of mouth clients we have is really high so I like to think we are doing something right. People appreciate us really listening. There is often a backlash against dull factory produced furniture and what we can do is come up with some great ideas to make existing furniture a showpiece rather than an eyesore. When commissioning furniture to be painted often it’s hard to visualise the finished piece so it’s lovely to see the

delight on a client’s face once a piece has been transformed.

Is there a secret to your success? The last few years have been tough for many people financially and we have been fortunate to be in a business that focusses on making the best of what you have, rather than buying new. The whole upcycling industry is still booming.

What has been your best business decision in the last two years? Evolving. A couple of years ago while scouring auctions and antiques markets I was picking up more and more interesting antique and vintage home accessories (as I couldn’t resist). There was only so much I could squeeze into my home! The online shop for our fabulous home accessories was a natural progression and compliments the furniture painting business really well.
