WIMBLEDON Lessons at a stroke

Christian Kenny and Christopher Whitworth of Sports Generation are on a mission to get London swimming. That’s why they offer first-class coaching throughout the area for young and old

Sports Generation, the high quality sports coaching company, is now offering weekly swimming lessons at four venues to over 800 children, with a team of 12 highly qualified and experienced swimming coaches.

The aim is to keep classes small so that children receive maximum benefit from each lesson and more attention from their teacher. Consequently, the non swimmer and beginner sessions have no more than four children per class. Lessons are available at Roko Health Club, Chiswick Bridge; and at luxury private pools in Wimbledon Village.

Coaches who represent the company are all of the highest calibre and work daily alongside the directors. Not only do they have a passion for swimming, but they also simply love to teach children. All of them follow Sports Generation’s strict methodology, enabling children to progress as strong happy swimmers, while ensuring that lessons are

both safe and productive, by running them in line with the national teaching plan. The founders of Sports Generation believe that swimming is one of the most important life skills and that children should acquire it as soon as possible. It is vital to develop confidence and prevent bad habits early on, they insist.

Swimming is fun, boosts health and

fitness, and saves lives

Accordingly, classes are available for children as young as three months. Swimming has multiple benefits. It boosts the health and fitness of the participant, enhances the immune system and improves quality of sleep. It is fun and sociable. And then there is the greatest benefit of all: it saves lives. According to 2010 UK statistics, drowning is the third most common accidental death in the country. It is the mission of Sports Generation, therefore, to turn its pupils into happy, confident swimmers with excellent technique at the earliest possible age.

However, it is never too late to start. At Roko Health Club, in Chiswick, Sports Generation also teaches big kids – otherwise known as adults! The great, enduring myth is that new skills cannot be learnt in later life. In fact, all it takes to learn to swim, or to acquire a new stroke, is quality instruction, commitment

and practice. Sports Generation teachers can help you to realise your potential through fun and engaging lessons, regardless of whether you are a beginner, a more experienced swimmer or a triathlete.

In addition, Sports Generation is now taking bookings for the spring term: Monday 5 January – Sunday 29 March.
