CREATE HOLIDAY VIBES IN YOUR GARDEN!
Make your outdoor space into a relaxing haven this summer

While a pool may be out of the question, you could perhaps make room for a hot tub – try a wood-fired version that draws heat from logs and can also look more in tune with the landscape. A steam room at the end of your garden would also offer a fabulous way to unwind. Then, to recreate that luxe hotel spa feeling, you’ll need steamer chairs with plump cushions – and don’t forget the pristine fresh white folded towels to accessorise!

DINE AL FRESCO
Create a shaded area for outdoor dining under a pergola. A beautifully set table can recreate that holiday mood: linen tablecloths and colourful folksy pottery works well. Look to add small plants in pretty pots or jugs of fresh cut flowers to the table, and add a sprig of lavender to each place setting.

THE POWER OF PLANTS
Beautiful bright blooms of bougainvillea, colour pops of citrus trees, lavender, bay and olive… all evoke a beautiful Mediterranean setting, and they can be grown in pots to brighten up patios and balconies. Or go more tropical with palms and banana trees – while you won’t get edible fruit, the large leaves are fabulous!

A PLACE TO CHILL
Make a spot in your garden in which to unwind and curl up with a book, from a simple hammock to outdoor sofas. Add shade with a large parasol. And bring in a water feature, too – so relaxing!
Incorporate a range of lighting around your garden to make it an inviting space to spend an evening. Hurricane lamps, a string of festoon lights, and a firepit will help to create that holiday feeling. Layer cushions and throws to make a stylish seating area for entertaining. Look at repurposing a potting table to turn into a mini drinks bar. Or go all out with an outdoor kitchen with a built-in fridge.
Make the most of socialising outdoors. Create some festival vibes with gorgeous glamping tents and canopies that the kids will love. Toast marshmallows over a fire.
Or rig up an outdoor cinema.
