HOTEL-STYLE LUXE INTERIORS

Look to boutique retreats to inspire your interiors this summer…

From blissful bedrooms and luxurious bathrooms to incredible design touches and tranquil spaces in which to unwind, here’s how to bring in all the elements from a luxury boutique hotel into your home…

THE PERFECT BATHROOM

Swathes of marble create that hotel- luxe feel but that’s not the only way. Statement tiles and floors can give you the wow factor you’re looking for. And the trend for striking wallpaper in the bathroom is set to continue.

If you’re really seeking the luxurious boutique experience, then a freestanding bath is the way to go. And upgrading your shower to an invigorating rainfall shower head will give you the perfect start to your day.

For a chic and simple bathroom update, look at changing your fittings to a brushed brash finish. Then for an easy hotel-style switch, simply add some fluffy new towels, bathrobes and a gorgeous selection of toiletries.

SUITE DREAMS

There’s nothing like falling into a freshly-made bed, with plump pillows and luxe linen. Upgrade your bedding and add a new headboard for instant style. Designer Martin Waller, founder of Andrew Martin, notes: “With the rise of the boutique hotel and its trending look in residential design, the headboard has become a brilliant focal point in bedroom decor. Look to the Firmdale Hotels for inspiration on using brave colour and pattern and have fun coordinating your headboard with a wallpaper or throw.”

A range of plump cushions can transform your bed. Adds Martin: “Patterned cushions can look great contrasted against a sophisticated, simple block colour bedding set. Combine different textures
to add depth and create an eclectic look. Velvet is a perennial favourite for cushions because it feels luxurious, whilst linen has a relaxed feel.”

Clear away clutter, and add a vase of fresh flowers to the dresser. If you have space, a day bed or chaise longue overlooking the garden will provide you with the perfect space in which to relax with a magazine.

BEACH-SIDE STYLE

Think gauzy curtains blowing in the breeze, wicker furniture and jute rugs to complement a muted colour scheme. We’re not talking beach kitsch but stylish references to beautiful rooms by the sea. Create a moodboard of your favourite holiday vibes. Add in potted plants with deep green foliage and generous leaves to bring in nature.

HEAD TO THE BAR

Set aside a grown-up and stylish space in which to entertain. Deep velvets and cool lighting can help you achieve the effect.
