Celebrity Chef and Surrey Resident Monica Galetti stars alongside journalist Giles Coren as she embarks on an exploration of the world’s most luxurious holiday destinations in Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby, kicking off with an insight into the operations and logistics behind the £3,000 a night stays at St Lucia’s Jade Mountain.

Episode One sees the television personalities visit an entirely hand-built hotel in St Lucia where the rooms have no outer wall and are completely open to the ocean and piton views, each with its own private infinity pool or jacuzzi.

During their behind-the-scenes investigation, the pair meet owners Nick and Karolin Troubetzkoy, Giles finds that room service at the resort is tougher than it seems, and Monica dives for Lionfish, which they both serve to guests enjoying destination weddings.

Discovering what it takes for internationally renowned resorts to be just that, Giles and Monica roll up their sleeves and learn what it takes to create once-in-a-lifetime experiences for discerning guests. By venturing far beyond the lobby into places that the public don’t usually see, they are able to uncover the meticulous level of detail required from talented staff to pull off impeccable service.

The episode will air on BBC Two at 9pm on Thursday 11th February, after which it will be available to view on demand on BBC Iplayer.
