Landmark Arts Birthday Fundraiser

Landmark Arts Birthday Fundraiser

Landmark’s 25th Anniversary creative challenge to raise £25k in 25 days, starts 25 May 2020

Teddington’s Landmark Arts Centre will be celebrating it’s 25th anniversary with #Landmark25Challenge. They had planned lots of events this summer to celebrate their birthday, but the centre was forced to closed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Landmark are challenging us to get creative at home and raise money for its emergency fundraising appeal. #Landmark25Challenge encourages us to do some arts related activities around the numbers 2 and 5 and help raise £25K in 25 days.

Lesley Bossine, said:

“It’s really easy to get involved; choose any arts challenge – it could be singing, comedy, playing an instrument, crafting, painting and do your activity over 25 days or for 25 minutes or 2.5 minutes, perhaps create 25 of something and ask your friends or family to sponsor you. There are lots of ideas on our website and where to donate.”

Some of the many creative ways to do a challenge include: create a 2.5 metre piece of art; paint, draw or create a piece of art every day for 25 days to remember lockdown; do 25 yoga downward dogs or sun salutations; sew 25 pennants to make bunting; recite 25 gags in 25 minutes; sing for 25 minutes on your daily walk.

More ideas are available at www.landmarkartscentre.org

Lesley Bossine, commented: “We want to make the event as interactive as possible and would love to see the challenges so we’re asking people to take short video clips and share them on their social media tagging in The Landmark Arts Centre or email them to info@landmarkartscentre.org and we will share them too.”

The Landmark Arts Centre is an independent charity (1047080) dedicated to offering a wide range of arts education activities for children, young people and adults by providing a stimulating, year-round, programme of live events including music, comedy, poetry and dance as well as providing exhibition opportunities for visual artists and designer-makers through art fairs and group and solo exhibitions, to help care for our amazing Grade II* listed building.
