What do you enjoy most about what you do?

I truly enjoy testing an idea and seeing it work. We believed that if volunteering was made easy and able to fit into busy lives, people would get involved. So that’s what we’ve created; flexible opportunities designed as volunteer consultancies. I’ve loved seeing this take off – we’ve had over 200 volunteers involved to date with wide-ranging skills such as finance, legal, PR/marketing, strategy, human resources, social media, data analysis, and much more. I am constantly amazed by the caliber of our volunteers and they have brought a high level of expertise to local charities that couldn’t access it otherwise.

I also love seeing what the women who go through our ReLaunch Programme achieve. Following a career-break, trying to re-enter the workforce can feel daunting and priorities and interests may have changed. ReLaunch’s 4-part workshop helps define goals and create an action plan. It is led by experienced facilitators and held in small groups, so participants not only finish with a plan but with a new support network too.

What makes your business stand out?

We really get to know the communities we work in and sincerely care about the people and organisations we engage with and the connections we make. We have a wonderful, small and dynamic team that are quick to get in touch with anyone who expresses interest. Volunteers, organisations and ReLaunchees have all highly recommended Link UP to others. I think that is the best sign that we are doing something right!
