The company has worked closely with Ana from the Lazat Cooking School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Pip from the Thai House in Bangkok to develop its menu and ensure that dishes reflect the flavours of the Far East. ‘Tampopo’ – actually a girl’s name in Japanese meaning ‘dandelion’ – is taken from the title of a Japanese film, a cult classic chronicling the quest for the perfect bowl of noodles by said heroine – a quest recreated by the team at Tampopo every day!
Jaw-dropping fans include… David and Victoria Beckham, who famously once bought a piece of art they spotted on the wall of their favourite branch!
And who better to deliver on this than the dream team of General Manager Stephanie and Head Chef Tam from their Fitzrovia restaurant. Together they have worked for the company for 23 years!
