Amit Gadhavi:
I qualified from Kings College London in 1991. I worked in general practice and subsequently studied for a Master’s degree in Periodontics at the prestigious Eastman Dental Hospital which is part of University College London. Having graduated with an MSc in 1997, I was invited to join the Department of Periodontics at the Eastman. Here I provided complex periodontal treatment in a consultant-led clinic. My thesis was published in ‘The Archives of Oral Biology’ and my research has also been presented at the International Association of Dental Research. In 2001 I was accepted onto the General Dental Council’s specialist register in Periodontics.

I have worked in several prestigious practices over the years. Here I have been able to treat both general and specialist periodontal cases referred to me by other dentists. As of October, I am delighted to be able to offer this service at Quadrant Dental Practice.

I provide care in all aspects of general dentistry as well as in specialist periodontal cases. I am also experienced at restoring implant cases and work very closely with implant providers. I believe in a fully preventive approach and am keen on a close and communicative approach to providing comfortable and successful outcomes. Primarily, I am passionate about ensuring that my patients are fully involved in their care and that they are always made aware of the choices available for their treatment. Gum disease is a very prevalent and insidious disease that has far-reaching health implications, as well as the ability to cause serious bone loss that can lead irreversible consequences of losing teeth. I firmly believe that early intervention can prevent such a distressing scenario.

Paula Scull:
I am pleased to be working alongside Judith and her team at Quadrant Dental Practice in Epsom.

I graduated from University College Hospital London, and I am a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. I have continued to develop my interest in dental surgery by completing a Master of Science degree in dental implants at Guys’ Hospital London. I am recognised on the list of registered Specialists in Oral Surgery. I have held long-term positions, and been very involved in the Oral Surgery departments, at Epsom, St Helier and East Surrey hospitals.

I enjoy treating patients for their oral surgery needs, such as removal of teeth with advanced decay or painful impacted wisdom teeth. I offer treatment to anxious patients, or those with diffi cult surgical cases, under intravenous sedation.

Sedation is provided in practice by anaesthetists from Sedation Solutions, who I have now worked with for over 15 years. Sedation is the safe and effective administration of drugs to alleviate anxiety, increase relaxation and make the patient comfortable. I am pleased to cater for more complex surgical treatments at the Quadrant Dental Practice where I am accompanied by suitably qualified staff within a well-equipped surgery.

I am happy to consult with and treat patients who wish to have dental implants as part of their overall dental care. I have over 18 years of experience in implant dentistry.

I was recently appointed as the chair-person for the ‘Oral Surgery Managed Clinical Network’. This is a challenging and enjoyable role, which ensures my professional knowledge of current treatments and procedures are kept right up to date.

Outside of dentistry I am married with two teenage children who are both at St Andrews School in Leatherhead. I am passionate about horse riding and compete locally in dressage.
