Top Bonfire Night events

Celebrate Bonfire Night with a bang! The best events on your doorstep and a little further afield.

After a break of two years, most of the fantastic Bonfire Night events in London are taking place again. Head out to celebrate in style, from fab fireworks displays to spectacular parties to a scavenger hunt.

Wimbledon Park, 4 November

The annual fireworks musical extravaganza is back for another year. Expect two dazzling shows with unique themes – the earlier show is more suitable for families with ‘feel good/pop’ music, and adults with no kids attached are welcome to join the later one with a ‘Kings and Queens’ music theme.

Morden Park, 5 November

Wimbledon Park’s sister show is bound to be just as spectacular! Both also feature a street food village, well-equipped bar and a funfair.

Fireworks Spectacular at The Lensbury, 28 October

This year, Lensbury’s fireworks have a special ‘Best of British’ theme. Expect fabulous fun, a display set to a soundtrack of British classics, delish food, inflatable rides and an after-party with a DJ.

Ally Pally’s Fireworks Festival, 4-5 November

Head out to north London for one of the most iconic celebrations across the capital. Alexandra Palace is one of the tallest points in the city and as such guarantees stunning views and heaps of fun, including the German Bier Festival, funfair and loads of yummy street food.

Battersea Park Fireworks, 5-6 November

Fireworks are back in Battersea Park! South London’s biggest fireworks display is a two-night-long celebration with a spectacular bonfire taking place on Saturday and a family-friendly early evening on Sunday. And naturally, the newly reopened Battersea Power Station is just a stone’s throw away and boasts some fab dining and entertainment options late into the night.

Barnes Bonfire Night, 5 November

Looking for something even more traditional? Head to Barnes where you can expect a stunning fireworks display overlooking the Thames, a bonfire, hot mulled wine, BBQ selling hot dogs and burgers and of course, their annual Best Guy competition – with the winner getting a chance to light the bonfire.

Herne Hill Fireworks, 29 October

People of Herne Hill decided to celebrate both Halloween and Bonfire Night at the same time and so, their annual fireworks display takes place earlier than usual. Take your place at Herne Hill Velodrome – the last surviving facility from the 1948 Olympics – grab something yummy to eat and drink from a variety of stalls, and enjoy the spoooooky fireworks display and a bonfire!

Carshalton Fireworks, 5 November

The annual traditional bonfire at Carshalton Park is no more – due to environmental concerns, it has been replaced with a Light and Laser show to take place before the fireworks display. It promises to be equally as spectacular, and there will be refreshments galore.

Richmond Fireworks, 6 November

The Richmond fireworks display is back! Expect a fun spectacle, funfair rides, mulled wine, hot food, candy floss and popcorn stalls, and even an after-party in the Members Bar.

Chiswick Park Extravaganza, 3 November

With a live band, fire performers, food and drink aplenty and a musical fireworks display, Chiswick Park Extravaganza looks like it’s going to be one of the most entertaining in the city. Plus, their Firewalk is back – yes, an actual firewalk, as in walking barefoot on hot embers. You can sign up for it in support of Shooting Star Children’s Hospices charity. It requires no training – just determination and minimum sponsorship of £150 in addition to the entry fee.

Merton Saints Bonfire and Fireworks 10th Anniversary Party, 5 November

Hog dogs and hot chocolate, bonfire, fireworks and DJ, and of course, BMX – support their fundraising efforts and join in for a fab celebration.

Guy Fawkes – Gunpowder, Treason & Plot, 5 November

If you want to find out more about the history behind the holiday, head out for this fascinating walk over “ground zero” – where the original “bonfire material” aka 36 barrels of gunpowder where transported and stored. It’s a grim, twisted story that is also probably much darker than you remember it to be from school – join the walk to get all the details.

Rat Pack Night, 5 November

If you fancy yourself dancing late into the night, head to Bromley and finish your celebrations with some Rat Pack classics.

Bonfire Night at Skylight, 5 November

Taking place in both awesome Skylight locations, Tobacco Dock and Peckham, Bonfire Night will go off with a bang. Best tunes, DJ, and a specially curated Bonfire Night cocktail – “Sweet Fire X”. Plus rooftop ice skating at Tobacco Dock!

Guy Fawkes Bonfire Hunt, 5 November

Not into clubbing or educational walks? Why not try a scavenger hunt – complete tasks and challenges to unlock clues and prevent a modern-day gunpowder plot! You can even put on your very own makeshift fireworks display…
