Children’s farms in south west London and Surrey

Our guide to our favourite children’s farms and animal attractions to keep the whole family entertained this summer

Deen City Farm, Merton

Located alongside the peaceful River Wandle in the heart of Merton, Deen City Farm makes for the perfect family day out. Hosting a wide range of activities including riding lessons, holiday schemes working in the farmyard, the farm holds an impressive collection of animals, with alpacas, cows, ducks, goats, pigs, rabbits and sheep. There is a charming allotment section where little ones can learn all about planting their own fruit and vegetables and extra activities are often put on during the summer holidays including pig feeding and pony riding.

Bocketts Farm Park, Leatherhead

Set among the picturesque rolling hills of Surrey, Bocketts Farm is a working family farm with a combination of both animals pens and play areas. Kids can hop on board tractors to learn more about the farm’s history, giving children an educational insight into the realities working farm. A stunning 18th century barn hosts tearooms with a variety of food on offer, suitable for even the fussiest of eaters. The farm also offers birthday party packages plus special summer spectacles and half term activities.

Hobbledown Adventure Farm Park and Zoo

A firm favourite, Hobbledown Farm Park is home to an abundance of farmyard animals as well as three large play villages with zip lines, mazes, zorbing areas and secret underground tunnels sure to entertain kids for hours. Creatures include everything from camels to caotis – and all are housed in spacious enclosures with plenty of room to roam.

Vauxhall City Farm

A valuable part of the community, Vauxhall City Farm is a charity initiative. Their vision is that through education, people from all communities can be empowered to learn about nature in the metropolis that we live in. Easily accessible for all and handily close to the overground station, this is the perfect way to keep the kids occupied during the summer holidays. They also run their farmer for a day holiday sessions which inspire young people to engage in cooking fresh, healthy food and caring for animals.
