Investec Derby Festival 2019
A whole weekend devoted to one of the premier events in the equestrian calendar with music, entertainment, after parties, a fashion show, plenty of live music, all culminating in the famous Derby race itself. Brush up on your knowledge of the race’s lengthy history by reading our guide.

Spring Spectacular at Bocketts Farm
Bocketts Farm will be opening its doors for families with a special event dedicated to the changing of the season. Kids can make the very most of May holidays with a circus skills workshop, a special crafts corner and an opportunity to pan for gold. Plus all the opportunities to visit the petting farm and learn about the animals who reside there.

Wandsworth Arts Fringe
Two weeks of arts and culture spanning across the borough, with all types of venues turning into stages for plays, dance performances, comedy, live music, poetry and more. Wimbledon Village May Open Home weekend
Interior and home showrooms across Wimbledon Village will be opening their doors this May weekend for the chance to meet the makers, designers and owners. Get inspiration and advice for your home, with nibbles, bubbles and goody-bags galore.
Amelie at New Wimbledon Theatre
A musical adaptation of the much-loved 2001 film comes to New Wimbledon Theatre, with all the charm and wit of the original which tells of an astonishing young woman who lives quietly in the world secretly devoting her life to kind deeds that bring happiness to those around her.
The Surbiton Food Festival
The Surbiton Food Festival is a two week celebration comprising the Seething Sardine Festival, the Surbiton Village Fete and the famed sports day and picnic. Expect a fortnight of fab food and drink and bizarre goings on as the town explodes with a carnival atmosphere. There will also be live music and plenty of entertainment for kids to lap up.
RHS Chelsea Flower Show
The Royal Hospital Chelsea will be once again taken over with all the colour and pop of flowers from across the world for the annual flower show. Keen gardeners of all levels can come along to see the latest in garden design, discover a brand new variety of plants and soak up the inspiration for their own back garden. The Great Pavilion hosts show rooms and fabulous floral displays and this year’s theme is you can see cutting-edge garden design, plants galore and ideas to take home. Barnes Children’s Literature Festival
Mid-May marks London’s biggest literature festival wholly devoted to children. Venues across the town will be transforming for workshops, demonstrations, readings and arts and crafts sessions to encourage children to get into the big world of reading. As well as talks from top authors, there will be musical theatre classes and an Alice in Wonderland tea party.
Fiera de Londres
A fun-filled family day out dedicated to Spanish culture, the Fiera de Londres will be taking over London’s South Bank. Inspired by Flamenco fairs seen across Spain, there will be incredible dance performances, music and some incredible colourful dress on show. To celebrate the heritage of Spanish cuisine, guests will be able to tuck into tasty tapas and enjoy some flavourful seafood paella while enjoying the show.
Lucha Libra at Roundhouse
Why not opt for something different this month and pay a visit to Camden’s Roundhouse where the iconic venue will be transforming to stage a popular Mexican cultural phemonemon – Lucha Libra. Catch professional wrestlers with colourful masks, elaborate costumes and impressive acrobatic techniques in a fierce competition.
London in the Sky
Fancy dinner suspended 100ft in the air? At London in the Sky, a 22-seat table, complete with chef, is whisked up over the 02 offering stunning views of the city skyline. There are eight ‘flights’ a day, and you can choose from breakfast, Prosecco & cake flights, lunch, cocktails or dinner. Not one for those with a fear of heights!
