INCREDIBLE SAVOURY CHEESE STRAWS RECIPE

Fancy a fab snack for a winter evening? Try these amazing (and simple!) savoury cheese straws, courtesy of Snowdonia Cheese Company.

Here’s the ultimate winter savoury snack recipe for cold winter evenings – mouthwatering cheese straws.

Ingredients:

  • 1 crusty baguette
  • 120g softened butter
  • 120g Green Thunder cheese (grated)
  • Fresh crushed garlic
  • Freshly chopped parsley (to taste)

Method:

  1. Mix together the softened butter with the grated Green Thunder cheese and garlic, season with black pepper to taste.
  2. Cut through the baguette every 2cm or so, leaving the slices attached at the base so the loaf stays together.
  3. Spread the cheese and butter mixture into each cut, on both sides, leaving a little to spread on top.
  4. Wrap the stuffed baguette in foil and bake for 15-20 minutes at 190°C, fan 170°C, gas 5. Open up the foil package for the last 5 minutes of baking to allow the bread to crisp up.
