BBQ Indian Lamb Chop Recipe from Benares, Mayfair

Recreate the Benares restaurant experience at home with this succulent, spiced Indian Lamb Chop recipe

  • 2 Lamb cutlets
  • 20g Dutch red chillies and piquillo pepper paste
  • 20g Ginger
  • 20g Garlic paste
  • 15ml Oil
  • 10ml Lemon juice
  • 7g Papaya paste
  • 15g Roasted gram flour
  • 5g Garam masala
  • 5g Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 3g Turmeric powder
  • 3g Salt
  • 3g Chaat masala


  • Make a paste with marinade ingredients and mix with the lamb cutlets.
  • Marinate the lamb for at least two hours.
  • Cook the lamb chops on the barbecue for 2-3 mins each side.
  • Rest the meat and baste with butter and chaat masala before serving
