Wimbledon is just around the corner, with the action starting 3 July 2023, and what better way to celebrate in the tennis delight than with some sweet treats and themed afternoon teas around London. Here are the Top TENnis.

The Guardsman’s Wimbledon Afternoon Tea

Head to The Guardsman on Buckingham Gate for an afternoon of summer flavours from the courtside served in this stunning five-star boutique hotel. With indulgences such as the Pistachio Players, which combine pistachio, white chocolate, and raspberry flavours, those of us with a sweet tooth will be in our element. Of course, no Wimbledon celebration is complete without the staple tipple, Pimm’s, and so the Centre Court Cup serves a chocolate cup filled with lime jelly, mascarpone and Pimm’s for a tangy sweet delight. The tea also includes a selection of scones and savouries, including a roast beetroot and spring onion goats cheese tartlet and various delicious finger sandwiches. To drink, enjoy a glass of Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne.

The tea is available from 5th July – 16th July 2023 from 12 pm to 5 pm and costs £65 per person.

The Wimbledon Champagne Afternoon Tea at Cannizaro House

Back by popular demand, Cannizaro House  present their prestigious afternoon tea in partnership with Champagne Lanson. The afternoon tea is served with a glass of either Brut or Rose Lanson Champagne, while Bird and Blend Teas offer a wide range of unique blends for you to find the perfect flavour to accompany your afternoon treats. Cannizaro House invites you to toast to the perfect match at Cannizaro House. Launching on 3rd – 16th July, 2 pm until 5 pm each day, this experience is priced at £49.95 per person.

Wimbledon Special at Aquavit London

This Wimbledon season, Aquavit London is set to offer a range of specials to celebrate the tournament. For the perfect bite to watch every moment, Aquavit London is offering a takeaway deal for guests to enjoy a burger, fries and a bottle of beer for just £25 exclusively during Wimbledon. For those looking for a cocktail to sip on during the first serve, a special tipple has been created for a limited time from 4th July – 15th July 2023. The 15-love blends strawberry vodka with orange zest, and honey syrup, finished with elderflower tonic water and mint for a summer refreshment of sweet fruity goodness.

Gelupo

Established in 2010, Gelupo is a popular little shop serving freshly made Italian gelato in Soho. With a rotating menu, this month sees the specials dedicated to the strawberry season in an ode to the Wimbledon Championships. Indulge in flavours such as Strawberry Pink Peppercorn and the classic Strawberry Eton Mess. The menu also sees the introduction of summer cocktails including the famous mix of Pimm’s and lemonade, and even fruity blends using fresh sorbets.

The Landmark London Wimbledon Afternoon Tea

In celebration of Britain’s most prestigious tennis tournament, five-star hotel The Landmark London is hosting a luxury afternoon tea. Each tasty tower is adorned with fresh sandwiches ranging from classic British fillings of Coronation Chicken on Walnut Bread to Lapsang Souchong Smoked Scottish Salmon, as well as warm freshly baked raisin and apple scones with clotted cream and a range of jams, and a selection of classic desserts. The collection of scrumptious desserts includes the Pimm’s Orange and Mint Mousse Shortbread – a true work of yummy creativity by head pastry chef Mauro Di Lieto, this sweet indulgence is shaped like a tennis ball while owning a creamy filling. Your own charming tea party will be had under the beautiful eight-storey glass atrium in the hotel’s Winter Garden Restaurant accompanied by live piano music. The tea is available to book between 3rd – 16th July 2023 and is priced at £65, while also having the option to upgrade with the addition of champagne.

Time for Tennis at Biscuiteers School of Icing

Eccleston Yards is the perfect spot to kick back and enjoy open-air live screenings of the action. During the screenings, treat yourself to some strawberries and cream, ice cream or summer cocktails – including Pimm’s (obviously!) – from Biscuiteers, or for those craving bubbles in the summer heat, head over to the Biscuiteers Prosecco Cart, open for a limited time during summer. For a fun activity for the whole family to get in the tennis spirit, in July the icing café will offer tennis-themed DIY icing sessions where you can enjoy a cup of tea and some strawberries and cream while decorating your own biscuits.

Game, Set, Match Afternoon Tea at Royal Lancaster London

Head pastry chef, Scott Villacora, has pulled it out of the bag to create the Royal Lancaster London’s exquisite tea set of flavours, pairing British favourites with seasonal delicacies. An array of sandwiches includes fillings such as roast beef with horseradish cream, cucumber with salted butter and smoked salmon with cream cheese. Warm homemade scones are served with clotted cream and a selection of preserves, accompanied by an assortment of sweet bites, including, Strawberry Swiss Roll, Champagne and Berry Jelly paired with vanilla panna cotta and shortbread and a Pistachio and Cherry Bakewell Tart. The tea is supported by a range of the finest Camellia’s Tea House teas.

This afternoon tea is available from 3rd July – 16th July 2023 and costs £39 Wednesday to Friday and £45 on Saturday and Sunday. Upgrades to include champagne are available.
