Wine & Dine With A View

Fabulous places to eat with a waterside setting

No29 Power Station West, Battersea

As part of the iconic Battersea Power Station redevelopment, No29 Power Station West is a fab space. Overlooking the Thames, this bar and restaurant is the perfect hang out spot for all occasions. The food has a sustainable ethos, from breakfast through to dinner, Sunday roasts, canapes and cocktails; complemented by a lively atmosphere. It is worth mentioning it boasts an exceptional brunch on Saturday too.

Chakra, Kingston Riverside

The first-class Indian cooking on Kingston’s bustling riverfront is a joy. The grills here are fantastic, including king prawn and paneer, alongside delicious dals and fluffy naans. And the terrrace by the bridge is a lovely setting to watch the world go by.

The Waterfront, Battersea

A gastropub with a contemporary glass atrium alongside Wandsworth Bridge, The Waterfront provides seasonal dishes that are perfect for grazing, traditional pub classics with their own contemporary touches or tuck into a good old traditional Sunday roast with family and friends.

The Crabtree, Hammersmith

An iconic pub situated on the quietest and most picturesque stretch of the Thames between Putney and Hammersmith Bridge. Like most venues, do book in advance and keep in mind that it is table service only rather than ordering at the bar. Try the likes of English charcuterie boards or flat-iron chicken with smoked garlic butter.

Thai Square, Putney Bridge

A wonderful location for delicious Thai, you can gaze out over the river through the expansive windows, while grazing on tamarind duck and whole steamed sea bass. There’s outdoor seating for warm sunny days, too.

Rick Stein, Barnes

Rick Stein is one of the best riverside restaurants in London. Sip on a crisp white while watching the sunset, then dine on classic such as whole Dover sole or grilled lobster. There’s a seafood curry and a classic fish and chips, too.
