AMERICAN SUPERMODEL LAUNCHES A COLLECTION IN WIMBLEDON

Supermodel, entrepreneur and actress Caprice tells us about her Christmas plans, decorating her home in Surrey and Notting Hill, and her new exclusive range.

How will you be spending Christmas?

I’m travelling to the States with my family where we will spending Christmas in sunny LA. We will be staying with my mom and of course, extended family.
It will be really lovely spending some quality time with them as we all live so far apart. My mom naturally is very excited to see her two grandsons.
Whilst over in LA we will be doing lots of the usual family catch-ups and because we will be in the sunshine, we have lots of fun activities planned too. The last time I was in LA, during the summer, I hurt my ankle surfing as I am a little competitive, so this time I will try and be more reserved. OK, let’s see how that goes!

Where do you go locally for festive vibes?

I love picking up the Christmas tree and decorating it from little finds I source from local shops and markets. This year our tree went up mid-November – yes, I know, but you have got to make the most of it and I find everyone is a little more upbeat this time of the year when they see the glamour and sparkle!
As well as investment pieces, I also love a bargain and love to shop for trinkets that help add the little finishing touches to each room in my home.
If I was planning a day out or activity I would go to Christmas at Kew to see the incredible light displays.

What festive foods and drinks do you love the most?

I don’t tend to drink nowadays but Sainsbury’s do a really good non-alcholic mulled wine which if you warm up in a pan with organic star anise, cinnamon and orange peel, gives you the most delicious flavours that exudes ultimate festive vibes.
In America, cinnamon is a staple for this time of the year, I mean it is literally in and sprinkled on everything, even ice cream. It has a really distinctive smell and it always reminds of the festive season and it has some nostalgia to it too for me.

How will you be decorating your home for the festive season and what are your tips?

Like I said, I am a little eager when it comes to embracing the festivities so our decorations went up the second week in November. I do it for my children mainly as they are at the age where they want as many decorations in the house as possible. As a mom, I am sure many moms can relate.

How do you make a gorgeous space for guests?

We often have guests at our house and I always follow the same rules. The guest bedrooms are minimal but I inject a twist of glamour and opulence with cushions, throws and beautiful bedding. Lighting and smell is always so important to give a luxurious feel so I tend to spray and put some organic essence sticks in each room just before any guests arrive. I also put a new organic wax candle on display. Making guests feel comfortable is really important so they feel relaxed and at home, but you also need to make them feel special too. The only problem is they won’t want to leave!

What inspired your new range and what makes it special?

By Caprice Hollywood is our exclusive range with Home Bargains. In a cost of living crisis, I believe luxury should be accessible and my designers and I have created a range that oozes opulence and injects a bit of glamour into your room. The range is beautiful and consists of ivory metallic designs which will transform any bedroom. We really listen to our customers and what they want in a collection. This is also why we have included a luxurious faux fur grey throw as part of the By Caprice Hollywood range – it is really versatile and gives your room that final special touch.
