On Saturday 8th June, a special family event commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings will take place at Kingston Museum.

There will be a free family takeover of the museum, where children can meet Lieutenant Cooper and help him prepare and plan the D-Day landings. The event is perfect for ages 7-11, and will be a fun and informative way for children to get stuck into history and learn about one of the most significant events of the Second World War.

Children will help Lieutenant Cooper conduct various operations through the museum throughout the day, including ‘Meet and Greet’ sessions and D-Day workshops.

The first Meet-and-Greet will begin at 10:30am and run until 11:30am. There will then be a D-Day planning workshop from 11:30am until 12:30pm, followed by another workshop from 14:00 to 15:00. The final Meet-and-Greet will take place from 15:00 to 16:00.

You can secure your place at one of Lieutenant Cooper’s workshops by booking for free on Eventbrite. A limited number of tickets will be available on the day, but booking is advised.
