Celebrate the Tennis Championships

Anize Keers checks out a rather different way to celebrate the tennis with swing ball in Cannizaro Park

In the spirit of the tennis season, Aldi has set up a field of ten swing ball courts in Wimbledon’s Cannizaro Park where you can play for free. You’ll also find their version of the tennis favourite tipple Pimm’s at the pop-up event.

Aldi’s Austin’s Summer Punch was voted better tasting than the branded version by consumers in the recent Which? Blind Taste Test. Those thirsty after a game of swing ball can rock up to the Summer Punch drinks cart, serving a cup of the summer cocktail for just 78p.  Coinciding with the famous tennis tournament happening just down the road, the swing ball championships will also offer the adored sweet bite of strawberries and cream for 89p a portion,  64% less than those being served at Wimbledon.

A great activity for all ages to enjoy, this event is perfect for families or friends in search of some fun competition and the taste of the classic treats of the season. With tennis season in full swing, soak up the atmosphere by practising your serve or simply grab a refreshment and enjoy a stroll through the gorgeous Cannizaro Park.

The swing ball courts are free to book here for a 45-minute slot, from 1 pm – 6:15 pm, this week only.
