Greetings! It’s the Christmas season! If you want to feel a bit of ‘festive cheer’ then the National Trust treasures in London and Surrey have just the ticket.

1 Christmas at Polesden Lacey
Twinkling lights in every room, festive music in the air and a storybook trail. Plus, of course, Christmas treats galore to keep you full and happy. Celebrate 12 days of Christmas high society-style at Polesden Lacy with spectacular displays, including falling snow and a golden partridge in a pear tree in a hidden courtyard, and an installation of swans-a-swimming.
2 Walking with The Snowman at Winkworth Arboretum
Walk (in the air) with the beloved children’s film at Winkworth Arboretum. Soak up the magic of Christmas with 12 extraordinary The Snowman sculptures designed by a range of talented artists, hop on a glittering carousel or enjoy a host of nostalgic winter fair games.
3 Christmas at Morden Hall Park
Enjoy the holiday season with your family – head to see Hurricane Theatre’s classic tale of Dick Whittington and his cat (3rd & 4th Dec), grab a festive treat from the café, and don’t forget to get your Christmas tree in the Garden Centre.
4 Christmas at Hatchlands
Dreaming of a traditional country house Christmas? Come to Hatchlands to see the cobbled courtyard decorated for the festive season. Each room will be decorated with a sustainably sourced Christmas tree from nearby Oxenford Farm, dressed to match the colours of the room, and there will be festive music drifting through the halls.
5 Christmas at Claremont Landscape Garden
Is there a more picturesque festive landscape than Claremont? Scamper along a nostalgic Christmas trail and look out for Christmas trees, crackers, cards and elves hiding along the way and try all the yummy treats from the tearoom.
6 Meet Father Christmas at Ham House (17 Dec)
A meet and greet session with Father Christmas himself! Plus a photo opp and of course, a gift to mark this special occasion. Or sign up for a Christmas wreath-making workshop to create your own festive willow wreath! (6 Dec)
7 Rainham Hall Christmas Art and Craft Fair (3 Dec)
Local artists and crafts makers come to The Hayloft to satisfy all your Christmas shopping needs. Or follow a Reindeer Trail (15-23 Dec) and wander past Dasher and Dancer, Cupid and Vixen to take part in a very special festive challenge.

Things to see and do at Sutton House
The oldest house in Hackney is decorated with festive greenery, gifts and ribbon to celebrate Christmas in style. Discover 500 years of East London’s history: a Tudor boy bishop, a kissing bough, and a historic Christmas feast – and don’t forget to collect a treasure hunt map for your little ones.
9 Christmas at Osterley Park
Wrap up warm and head to a festive family trail around the garden (10 activities and 2 game stations!) and keep an eye out for all the winged visitors known to stop by Osterley Park this time of year. Plus hot chocolate, fresh-baked pastries and a fab range of second-hand books available to purchase.
