Review: Gravity Max Wandsworth

We check out the multi-activity centre

Ideal for rainy days, Southside in Wandworth has plenty to offer with shopping, restaurants, a cinema and activities under one roof. We checked out Gravity Max, a vast space with options such as digital darts, shuffleboard, mini golf, bowling, virtual reality and e-karts, plus a vast arcade.

We were booked in for three activities – first up the e-karting. A race costs from £11.95 per person plus £3 each for a balaclava to go under the helmet (you can keep it for future use). After a safety briefing, we headed to the track. It’s a lot of fun whizzing around the tracks – although for safety reasons, cars are automatically slowed down if there is another car that has stopped on another part of the course. We had a fab time racing along and could have easily spent longer on this activity as each race is only eight minutes. The kids, 11 and 14, would have happily done this all afternoon!

Next up was bowling (£8.95 per person). We loved how the lanes are lit up and there are fun cartoon characters that animate on the lane (depending on what mode you choose). The bar area looks great, with cool motifs along the wall.

We also tried the virtual reality, Hologate VR (£9.95 per person). There’s a whole host of games, such as snowball fights and fighting zombies, which makes it suitable for a range of ages. This is really well done. As you only get around eight minutes though, it’s worth booking in another session but costs would soon rack up if you’re paying for a family. But it is great fun.

Gravity Max is a fab option for when the weather is too miserable to step outside.
