SUMMER IS ON! CHECK OUT THE NEW NORMAL FESTIVAL IN SW LONDON

THE NEW NORMAL FESTIVAL BRINGS TOP LINE UP TO SW18

A new festival will be gracing the grounds of the Royal Victoria Patriotic Building in Wandsworth, with comedy, theatre, music and magic. The New Normal Festival will also have a BBQ and bar in a socially distanced outdoor courtyard theatre.

The festival was put together in just six days after a tweet inviting producers with outdoor ready shows to get in touch, and audiences will get the chance to see acts that were due to head to the Edinburgh Fringe, the VAULT Festival or otherwise had their shows cancelled because of the pandemic.

Mischief Comedy will be playing two intimate performances of their Mischief Movie Night on August bank holiday weekend (Fri 29 & Sat 30) before moving on to dates at the Regents Park Open Air Theatre and The Minack in Cornwall.

The Guilty Feminist Podcast has one of its first live ‘New Normal’ shows post-lockdown. On Saturday 8, Deborah Frances-White will be joined by friends in the courtyard for a live recording of the hugely popular podcast.

Tramp Theatre company will present the world premiere of a series of monologues from award-winning Philip Ridley, The Beast Will Rise. The monologues were written in lockdown and performed online by cast members of Ridley’s postponed play The Beast Of Blue Yonder.

And Good Ship Comedy has announced the line-up for the first of two comedy gigs (Thurs 6 & Fri 21) at the New Normal including Sindhu Vee (Live at the Apollo, QI, Have I Got News For You), Suzi Ruffell (Jonathan Ross Show, Mock the Week, Live at the Apollo) with Jake Lambert and Ben Van Der Velde as MC.

The line-up also includes magic from Ben Hart (August 7 & 8), musical revues from Vikki Stone and Natasha Barnes (Funny Girl) as well as the Edinburgh hit I Wish My Life We’re Like a Musical
