1 Al Forno, Putney

The ultimate taste of Italy in south west London, this traditional and authentic restaurant is family run and offers the very best of Italian and Sicilian dishes.

2 Orangery Restaurant, Wimbledon Common

Overlooking the grounds of Cannizaro, the Orangery Restaurant is a peaceful sanctuary in amongst nature and leaves the hectic bustle of London behind.

The glass room provides a brilliant aspect to sit and enjoy the view and there is ample room for children to run around in Cannizaro Park.

The menu is European with an Italian influence.

3 Megan’s Chelsea and Fulham

All of the Megan’s in London offer all day dining, are dog friendly and provide a friendly neighbourhood restaurant which is open for brunch, lunch and dinner.

This particular Megan’s has a loosely based Mediterranean menu, with head Chef Sercan giving a Turkish influence on some traditional dishes.

Megan’s also offers a children’s menu and does early evening and weekend menus.

4 The Victoria, East Sheen

A top gastropub with rooms in East Sheen, this pub has been around since the middle of the 19th century.

It serves food all day and is particularly famous for its must book brunches at the weekends. It is also popular for a family Sunday roast.

5 The ‘Teahouse’ at Petersham Nurseries, Richmond

After a run or a bike ride around Richmond Park, why not pop into the Teahouse at Petersham Nurseries afterwards.

It serves salads and homemade pasta throughout the day and hearty homemade cakes. Walk in only Tuesday – Sunday.

6 Caravan restaurants

Started by three kiwis, Chris, Laura and Miles, this group of relaxed all day restaurants are perfect for a family brunch or lunch.

It has branches in Canary Wharf, London Bridge, Chelsea and a newly opened restaurant in Covent Garden.

Their ethos: “We wanted to create a place where you could come in the morning and stay there all day and all night.”

7 Battersea Power Station

BAO is the award-winning Taiwanese restaurant which is inside the Power station.

You can enjoy bowlfuls of soup and eat BAO whilst the younger members of your family can tuck into a £10 set kids menu.

They can chose three items including classic bao, pork rice, noodles, fried chicken, dumplings, fries and more.

Birdies – If a burger is what you’re looking for then The Cheeky Burger team have a great kids menu.

The Birdies Kid’s Meal includes your choice of a burger, drink and dessert.

8 The Cricketers, Cobham

The Cricketers pub is a great spot for a family lunch.

Overlooking the Downside Common in Cobham, they have a great menu and a small playground within spitting distance from the pub.

9 Peppe Kingston

A Sicilian restaurant in Kingston that offers an impressive selection of antipasti, pasta, meat, seafood, pizza and sides, with friendly staff and buzzing atmosphere.

Giuseppe Prestigiacomo packed up and left Sicily in 2001, and his aim was to bring authentic Sicilian food to the UK. He has succeeded.

  10 Bill’s Restaurant, Kingston and Wimbledon

Richard Caring’s restaurant chain Bill’s is always a good option for families.

The company, which originated from a greengrocer in Lewes, provides a relaxed family friendly all day dining experience, and with sites in both Wimbledon and Richmond, it’s a great place for a brunch or early dinner.
