Best local producers: multi award-winning gin stands out from the crowd

Hampton Court Gin

local producersWhilst lockdown forced many businesses into hibernation, it also initiated the birth of exciting new ventures. Launched in June 2021, the team at Hampton Court Gin spent the preceding year researching how to distil 500 years of history into a beautifully smooth, distinctive gin. Their first, The Six Wives, made with 6 botanicals all found in Henry VIII’s kitchen gardens or were spices he imported to liven up his legendary feasts, quickly won Silver Medal at the Global Spirit Masters Awards.

Maintaining their award-winning pedigree, their second gin Lord of Misrule has won Time & Leisure’s Taste Award. Inspired by a Tudor tradition of mischief and mayhem it is a perfect mix of contradictions; refreshingly warming, simply complicated and delicately bold, a silky smooth and curiously spicy gin. A complete sell out in 2021, Hampton Court Gin are running a campaign to awaken His Lordship from his slumber early, now available to pre-order on their website.

Those looking for thoughtful Mother’s day gift, can order a gorgeous “Jigger Gift Set” for the perfect G&T serve every time, including a 70cl bottle of gin, 25ml / 50ml rose gold style jigger nestled in an eco-cotton drawstring bag, presented in a gift bag with tissue paper.

And we’re very excited to hear rumblings about a soon-to-be-launched spiced rum. All they will tell us is that it is based around Henry’s role in the founding of the Royal Navy.

Order at www.hamptoncourtgin.com and we’d recommend signing up to their newsletter to be the first to hear about new treats coming our way.
