The ‘secret’ garden tucked away in this residential street in North Kingston is a special place indeed. There’s no heaters or shelter but you can book a table outside in advance – just bring a blanket – then relax with a well-kept pint.

The Canbury is a grand old pub with a recent makeover and offers fab gastropub dishes. Outside you’ll find a small terrace with patio heaters, plus a smattering of benches at the front and side of the pub.

You’d be forgiven for thinking you’re in the heart of the country in this village pub on Wimbledon Common. After stretching your legs around the green, head here for a pie and a pint in the garden. Your four-legged friends will love it too with the chance to be awarded ‘dog of the day’.
