Kingston Foodbank ‘Street Champs’
Kingston Foodbank ‘Street Champs’
Would you like to be a ‘Street Champ’ hero? Kingston residents and businesses to support this local initiative and make a real difference in the community
Together, the GoodGym, Kingston Council and local residents have established the ‘Street Champs’ initiative to enable residents to drop off food donations to secure locations close to their homes. The scheme is already delivering very positive results and continues to grow. Now, estate agency Hawes & Co are supporting the campaign by increasing awareness with local residents.
There are now over 100 resident Street Champs across the borough meaning residents can easily drop off food donations near to their home as they take some daily exercise. The Street Champs have helped to raise huge amounts of food for some of the boroughs most vulnerable residents as well as volunteering their homes as donation drop off points throughout the borough. Social distancing guidelines are adhered to at all times and supplies are being collected and delivered to foodbanks across Kingston.

Councillor John Sweeney said: “I’m really amazed by the support we have had from Street Champions across Kingston. So many residents are willing to help. Our Street Champs have been very resourceful in promoting the Kingston Foodbank campaign to their network of friends and family and generating a great community spirit.”
“Hawes & Co are delighted to be able to support this incredibly important initiative in such uncertain times for so many people. Having been in the area since 1885, we very much understand the difference it is making in the local community”
says Max Chapman, MD at Hawes & Co.
