Metronome Coffee Fesival

Metronome to Host Coffee Festival this October

Metronome, the coffee and arts space in Morden, has a week of events all centred around coffee.

The fun begins early each day with free samples from independent coffee roasters and continues with ticketed events into the evenings. During the day there will be in-depth tastings, workshops, and latte art competitions. Come along to their evening events for latte art classes, espresso martinis as well as their regularly scheduled album listenings and pub orchestra! Time & Leisure is proud to be media partners for this fantastic festival.

Metronome Coffee Festival, like Metronome itself, was created to share good things with Merton. The events aim to platform smaller coffee roasters and share their craft with new customers.

Each day features one guest roaster. Free samples are served out front for commuters in a rush and for those with more time, coffee tastings will be served in store around 11am (delivered by the roasters themselves on Thursday and Friday).

Friday evening sees their Espresso Martini night with their own recipe cocktails.

The party continues into Saturday as they mark the main event of the festival. Coffee tasting sessions will be rolled out for those in store, while customers compete in their latte art competition.

Kick back on Sunday experiencing more coffee tastings from Forty Acres Coffee, roasted just two miles from the store.

The programme, just released, is set to sell out fast as there is limited capacity at the Crown Lane, Morden, venue. Director of Metronome, John Merriman, said “After launching the business mid-pandemic, our dreams of holding this kind of event have been repeatedly thwarted, so we’re delighted to be announcing our second annual coffee festival in Merton!” Co-director and host of the festivals events, Tom Featherstone added. “We are excited to platform these five amazing independent roasters and bring great coffee to Merton!”

The festival runs from 25 – 29 October. All events are at Metronome, 8 Crown Lane Morden (opposite the civic centre). Events and tickets are available on the Metronome website: ticketsource.co.uk/metronome-life or pop into the coffee shop and speak with the team. All events are free but some do require booking.
