Wimbledon, one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, is not only a celebration of remarkable athletic prowess but also a showcase of timeless fashion. The event exudes a sense of elegance and style, with spectators often donning sophisticated outfits that reflect the tournament’s rich heritage. Whilst there is no official Wimbledon dress code for the spectators, dressing smartly is encouraged – particularly if you’re one of the lucky ones to have tickets for the Centre Court or Court Number. The only exception to this is the Royal Box – if you are invited into the Royal Box, there is a dress code which includes:

    • Jacket, tie and shoes for men
    • Ladies are asked not to wear hats, as they tend to obscure the vision of those seated behind them
    • Dresses or smart summer attire for ladies

Ambush marketing’ clothing is also not allowed anywhere e.g. a jacket with your company logo emblazoned on the back, for instance. Political slogans are also forbidden

Whether you’re a tennis enthusiast or simply looking for inspiration for a stylish day out, here are eight outfits you’d wear to watch Wimbledon.

1 Classic White Dress

Channel the traditional Wimbledon aesthetic with a classic white dress that epitomizes elegance. Opt for a lightweight, flowy fabric to stay comfortable during the summer tournament. Complete the look with minimalistic accessories and a pair of comfortable sandals. But hats are not encouraged as they can block the view of the spectators behind you – that said, you can always bring one for the day for when you’re out in the blazing sun.

2 Preppy Shirt and High-Waisted Skirt

For a chic and preppy look, consider pairing a fitted shirt with a high-waisted skirt. Choose a polo shirt in a pastel shade and tuck it into a pleated or A-line skirt for a timeless silhouette. Add a woven belt to accentuate your waist and complement the overall outfit. Finish off the look with a pair of white sneakers or loafers for a touch of casual charm.

3 Linen Jumpsuit and Espadrilles

Stay on-trend and comfortable with a linen jumpsuit. The breathable fabric is ideal for warm summer days at the tournament. Opt for a tailored jumpsuit in a neutral tone, such as beige or khaki. Pair it with classic espadrilles to add a touch of Mediterranean flair to your outfit. Accessorize with a woven tote bag and a statement pair of sunglasses to complete the effortless chic look.

4 Midi Dress and Wedge Sandals

Embrace the beauty of summer with a floral midi dress. Choose a dress with delicate floral patterns or polka and a flowing silhouette to capture the whimsical atmosphere of Wimbledon. Pair it with comfortable wedge sandals for an added touch of femininity and height. Enhance the look with delicate jewelry and a crossbody bag to keep your essentials handy.

5 Tailored Blazer, Crisp Shirt, and Trousers

For a more sophisticated and polished outfit, consider a tailored blazer paired with a crisp white shirt and tailored trousers. Choose a blazer in a light color, such as light gray or soft pastels, to maintain a fresh and airy appearance. Pair it with tailored trousers in a complementary shade, and opt for a blouse or shirt with subtle detailing to add a touch of elegance. Complete the ensemble with classic pumps or loafers and a structured handbag.

6 Striped Shirt and Wide-Leg Pants

Capture the timeless charm of Wimbledon with a classic striped shirt and wide-leg pants combination. Opt for a well-fitted shirt in navy or white stripes and pair it with high-waisted wide-leg pants in a neutral color. Tuck in the shirt to create a defined waistline and accessorize with a chic belt. Choose comfortable block heels or platform sandals to elevate the outfit while ensuring all-day comfort.

7 Pleated Skirt and Polo Shirt

Take your inspiration from the court – the tennis-core trend is still going strong. For watching Wimbledon, that can translate into a pleated skirt and polo shirt. The All England Lawn Tennis Club has its own collection and this year, it has launched a semi-formal line that you can wear to Wimbledon including shirt dresses (above). It’s all designed locally too. We also love the on court collection – the Varsity-style bomber will be our casual jacket go-to.

8 Elegant Maxi Dress

Make a bold fashion statement with an elegant maxi dress. Opt for a flowy maxi dress in a vibrant color or a striking pattern to stand out in the crowd. Complete the look with strappy sandals or wedge heels and delicate jewelry.
