City of London’s Leadenhall Market – from 19 November

From Friday, November 19th, the classic Victorian magnificence of the City of London’s Leadenhall Market will be bathed in light when its gigantic Christmas tree, decorations, and magnificent garlands are unveiled. Plus, more Christmassy activities take place on December 8th, including gift-wrapping, wreath-making and whisky-tasting. Book here. 

Let It Snow This Christmas – Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability – from 15 November

On Monday, November 15th, Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability is putting up a lovely snowflake-themed light display in front of the RHN building to promote festive cheer and joy to patients, their families, staff, and the local community. Donations are encouraged. 

Southbank – until 9 January

Winter Light, an innovative exhibition, features stunning artwork that harnesses the complete spectrum of light and colour, with a neon canopy, experimental projections, and hauntingly lit abandoned cars. 

Christmas at Kew – 7 November – 9 January

Don’t miss the amazing Christmas at Kew: after dark, go through the famous botanic gardens and follow a glittering trail of lights, music, and colours. A fascinating seasonal experience like no other, it celebrates the wonders of biodiversity. 

Chelsea Christmas Lights – from 20 November  

Where better to ring in the holiday season than in Chelsea’s glittering heart? Soak in the festive atmosphere and enjoy The Christmas Light Switch On, a visit from Santa, and the amazing Christmas Shopping Event!

Regent Street and St James’s Christmas lights – 13 November to 2 January

‘The Spirit of Christmas’ project will return to the capital this year, with the beautiful Spirits soaring over Regent Street and St James’s neighbourhoods 

Illuminature at London Wetland Centre – 22 October to 9 January

Head to the award-winning WWT London Wetland Centre in Barnes this autumn to see gigantic light sculptures of wetland species interwoven with enchanting works like light tunnels and responsive lily pads. 

Enchanted Woodland at Syon Park – Fridays – Sundays from 12 to 28 November

Syon Park, just across the Thames from Kew Gardens, is also participating in the lighting show. The light path will take tourists on a stroll around the 600-year-old gardens. 

Lightopia at Crystal Palace Park – 19 November to 2 January

For the very first time, Crystal Palace Park will be transformed into a shining festival of lights with lasers, lanterns, large-scale installations, and more – even the famous dinosaurs will get a makeover. The unique illuminated trail will contain breathtaking, multi-sensory interactive lights and installations.

PALACE OF STARDUST at Hampton Court Palace – 8 December to 3 January

You’ll lose track of time as you stroll through the historic cobbled courtyards and gardens, magically illuminated by the palace’s famous astronomical clock.
