Wandsworth Arts Fringe – In Your Living Room, 8-24 May

Last chance to catch some of the activities, story telling and podcasts this weekend from Wandsworth Arts Festival – in your living room. Tara Arts presents The Monkey King and the Mangoes story time for the over 6’s, magical stories from the Panchatantra – famous Indian fables – brought to life by actors from the Tara Arts community. Or for younger ones, Three Feathers present story time with frog: Mercury and The Woodman.Or download the special story making festival pack including activities such as sculpture making, urban art collaging, story-telling and drama.

Polka Theatre story telling and online activities

Get creative with Polka and explore some of the much-loved story books adapted for stage. Polka Online has four all time favourite children’s stories to watch, activity packs, workshops and much more to enjoy this May half term.

Make Your Own Street Art

There’s a host of arty resources for kids on the Tate Gallery website, our favourite is create your own street art. Little artists will enjoy hours of fun exploring all the different activities.

#Landmark25Challenge

The Landmark are challenging us to get creative at home and raise money for its emergency fundraising appeal. Get creative and do some arts related activities around the numbers 2 and 5 and help raise £25K in 25 days. Choose an arts challenge, it could be singing, comedy, playing an instrument, crafting, painting and do your activity over 25 days or for 25 minutes or 2.5 minutes, perhaps create 25 of something and ask your friends or family to sponsor you. Picnics and Park Life

Playgrounds may be closed for the time being but there are plenty of Parks in southwest London to go roaming in and enjoy a picnic. Here is our pick of the best parks to get out and enjoy.

Learn Spanish

Kidslingo (Epsom, Esher, Surbiton), are offering free Spanish online story time, Thursday at 3:30pm (uploaded later to Facebook) and some special live taster sessions during May half-term week, suitable for all age ranges. You can enrol on their website.

How to make a sensory tray

Get out into the garden or a nearby park and make your own sensory tray. Perfect for little people to explore as they discover new textures, shapes and colours, learning through play.

Saddlers Wells – family dance workshops

Ten family workshops created for young children aged two to six by dance artist Cherie Coleman are available online via the Sadler’s Wells YouTube channel. With themed activities including textures, shapes, sounds, and colours, and storytelling sessions based on fairy-tales such as Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Create, move, learn, play

Download activity packs from the Bentall Centre website to get some activity inspiration. Designed to print out at home, you’ll find lots of fun entertainment to keep little ones occupied.
