Perhaps one of the most famous pubs in Epsom, The Rubbing House’s unique position means that it is situated right on the racecourse itself – and perhaps the only pub in the world to do so. It’s also just a stone’s throw from the winning post. The pub’s panoramic views of the racecourse are what make its location so special and on race days you can assess the quality of the horses as they pass by just a few yards away, as well as watch the action unfold from the historic balcony. The Derby Arms can be found in the valley of Epsom Downs, opposite the world-famous Queen Stand and racecourse.
