Get your little ones in the mood for Halloween

Praise the gourd! We’re blessed with some superb spots in Surrey for getting your hands on those giant orange seasonal squashes for the perfect Jack O’Lantern.

Priory Farm, Redhill

There’s spooky trails (10 Oct to 1 Nov) and tractor rides (limited ticket availability) over at Priory Farm. Book in advance. Pick up a pumpkin to carve at home, and stock up on seasonal foods at the farm shop to cook up an autumnal feast.

Crockford Bridge Farm, Addlestone

Pumpkins have now been picked and moved to the market due to the risk of ground frost, but its Halloween Festival (17 – 31 October) makes for a fun-filled day out with a (distanced) carving and decorating area, activities and fabulous pumpkin installations, perfect for pics for the ‘gram. Prizes for those dressed to impress for the occasion. Book in advance.

Garson’s Farm, Esher

Book a PYO Farm Pass in advance and head along to this popular spot in Esher. There’s gourds galore, as well as other autumnal goodies to pick, including apples and French beans. When you’ve picked, head to the cafe for tea and cake, then stock up at the farm shop, which is stacked full of artisan treats, as well a bakery and home-grown fruit and veg.

Secretts Farm, Milford

Pumpkin Week (book in advance for a timed slot) takes place 24 – 31 October. There’s picking, of course, and a bbq and pumpkin themed menu. For foodie parents, head to the farm shop, which has a cheese counter with over 300 varieties, and don’t forget some great sourdough and cookies.
