Kingston Business Excellence Awards launching for 2019 at Kingston University

The 2019 search for Kingston’s top businesses gets under way at a special breakfast event at Kingston University on Tuesday, 23rd April

The free-to-attend launch of the 7th annual Kingston Business Excellence Awards in association with Willmott Dixon, is being held in the university’s Picton Room from 8.30am to 10.00am. Time & Leisure are proud to be chosen as Media Partners for these awards.

Guests will hear details of the free and easy to enter categories – refreshed for 2019 – over a light breakfast, as well as inspirational speeches from the borough’s business and political leaders.

Organised in partnership with the Royal Borough of Kingston, Kingston Chamber of Commerce and Kingston First, the much sought-after business awards are designed to celebrate the achievements of the borough’s vibrant business community. Places at the launch are limited so be sure to book your tickets now.

Welcoming this year’s Awards programme, Kingston Chamber of Commerce Chief Executive, Forbes Low said: “Last year’s competition was a huge success culminating in the Awards Gala Evening where the finalists were able to share their success stories and celebrate their achievements. The Awards have a valuable reputation so each year, we review how to enhance the key elements. For 2019, we have reviewed the awards categories, so there really is an opportunity for every business, large or small, new or established, to have a go at becoming a prestigious Awards winner.”

Kevin Munnelly, Corporate Head of Regeneration, Royal Borough of Kingston, added: “We are delighted to sponsor the Business Excellence Awards again in 2019. The Awards are part of a wider business community engagement agenda, which includes developing new workspace and protecting existing space; signposting to training and funding and maximising the deployment of digital infrastructure to enable business growth. Each and every business in the borough is important to us and the Awards are a great opportunity to recognise them and their success”

Kirsten Henly, Chief Executive of Kingston First, the Business Improvement District for Kingston upon Thames said: “These awards offer recognition for outstanding businesses operating across Kingston. We are delighted to be celebrating these businesses and, importantly, the people who drive them.”

Stephen Parker, New Business Manager of Headline Sponsor, Willmott Dixon, said: “These awards are really important to Willmott Dixon because as a local company we are keen to put something back into the Kingston community. We are currently working with Kingston Council and also delivering the Town House at Kingston University. The awards are a good opportunity for us to back local businesses and celebrate their achievements and their people.”

The highlight of the awards process is the Gala Awards Dinner on Thursday 10th October, 2019 when all the winners – including the Kingston Business of the Year, won in 2018 by White House Nursing Home – will be exclusively announced.

The 2019 Kingston Business Excellence Awards are sponsored by headline partner Willmott Dixon, Kingston Council, Kingston Chamber, Kingston First, HR Department, Kingston University, Kingston College and Time and Leisure. They are supported by IQinIT, and Kingston Burrowes.
