Wild about Play is a magical outdoor nursery with forest school activities in the heart of Putney South West London overlooking 22 beautiful acres of Woodland.

With our base on the Roof Top of Oasis Academy, we provide a nurturing outdoor learning environment for children aged 2-5 years old combining the best of both worlds – a beautiful secure outdoor environment as well as forest activities in the Putney Woodlands.

We believe that children are continually learning from their surroundings and the outdoors is the perfect place for them to do so whilst creating a connection to nature in our community that gives an important sense of belonging to each other and our natural environment.

A magical day with us involves seasonal activities, mud kitchen play in our roof top area with some wild artistic tinkering followed by some lovely collaborative play in any of our water play area, construction, digging, and maths areas. Each morning is then followed by musical play to stimulate the sense even further and then lunch and story time. All our children then love our afternoon forage in the woods with our educators and each time they discover something interesting and wild to talk about. We finish our day with a reflection session and we find that all our young ones are then ready to come home – exhausted but refreshed by all the wild senses!

We are so pleased to welcome you and your family to Wild about Play. Our magical setting is based on a roof garden overlooking 22 acres of Woodland. We are so pleased to offer a safe and secure place for your child whilst also enabling them to thrive in the great outdoors.

Both my children had outdoor education and forest school early on in their lives and I have seen the incredibly positive impact that learning in the outdoors through play has had on them and their confidence, sense of focus and creativity.

My aim is to help our children have the best possible start to life physically, emotionally and cognitively. All the evidence combines to say one thing: Birth to 7 years matters the most as far as our brain development is concerned. This makes choosing the right place to start your child an incredibly important decision and one worth a great deal of examination. At Wild about Play our high staff to child ratios 1:4 with amazing educators allows for a very close and engaged experience for our children helping them thrive and acquire the skills for happiness and resilience needed for life and for school.

For those extremely cold wintery days we are able to take our children into our indoor space for some yoga, artisitic activities and creative reading followed by some bread making and cooking in the children’s kitchen at Oasis Academy.
