Wimbledon Philosophical Society

Wimbledon Philosophical Society runs regular local live events with interesting guest speakers on a range of current and timeless philosophical issues such as Ethical Capitalism, Religious Truth, Sex and Gender, Plato to Putin, Free Speech, Democracy vs Dictatorship and aspects of Human Nature and the human condition.

Past speakers include Professor AC Grayling, Lord Gus O’Donnell, Dr. John Stevens, Lord Charles Powell and Professor Eric Kaufmann to name just a few.

We run around 5 or 6 live speaker events per year usually from September to May, so effectively one every couple of months in the winter. In addition, we have an Annual General Meeting in October and a Garden Party for members and guests in June with poetry readings.

This year we are sponsoring Ben Okri at Wimbledon Bookfest on October 15th and have an interesting roster of future speakers for our events held at venues in Wimbledon.
