Top 5 Looks From the Morleys Fashion Show AW23

By Eloise Kane

On Thursday the 5th of October, Morleys hosted a fashion show displaying all the new trends of the season but in the format of fashionable, easy-to-wear outfits that are suitable for anyone and everyone. With difficulty to pick from the range of spectacular outfits, I chose my top 5 from the collection and here’s why:

1

Look 1 from the party edit

Sequin top and dress: All Saints
Bag: Whistles
Boots: Carvela

Despite all edits being great, the party edit was the most difficult to choose a favourite from! Sequins and silk are complementary as well as two fabrics that are rising rapidly into popularity this season. This is the perfect party look that will last from autumn right up until New Years’ celebrations and can be paired with an array of bags and shoes (however this bag from Whistles and heeled boots from Carvela work particularly well).

Look 2 from the Colour Edit

(PICTURED TOP)

Dress and jumper: All Saints
Necklaces: Hot Tomato
Bag: Michael Kors
Boots: Carvela

It is no argument that brown is the perfect autumnal colour that will last until spring. Despite the whole outfit drawing me in, I was particularly in awe of this skirt from All Saints: the handkerchief cut combined with shiny pleats (which has been a common occurrence on the Paris Fashion Week catwalks) plus the lace detailing, create the perfect skirt for all occasions this autumn/winter – especially when beautifully paired with stunning gold jewellery from Hot Tomato – a vintage brand in the UK.

Look 5 from the Print Edit

Dress: Aligne
Shirt: Mango
Bag: Michael Kors
Boots: Carvela
By pairing the pinstripe dress from Aligne with an affordable yet classy Mango shirt, the perfect outfit for any formal occasion is created whilst being absolutely on trend with a pinstripe comeback this season.

Look 3 from the Colour Edit

Jacket, sweatshirt and trousers: Calvin Klein Jeans
Trainers: Veja

Combining a men’s look can be more challenging, especially when incorporating a dash of colour to brighten up the autumn, however, Calvin Klein has got it all. The purple pastel jacket carefully layered over the matching jumper serves a minimalistic look whilst having the originality of colour.

Look 4 from the Knitwear Edit

Shirt: Mango
Tank top: Free People
Denim Skirt: ONLY
Bag: Coach
Trainers: Kurt Geiger
This was among everybody’s favourite and rightly so. Creating a layered, practical and aesthetically pleasing look is difficult to pull off, however, that is where the sweater vest fits in. Layered best over shirts, sweater vests are the answer to the autumn! This bag from Coach was also particularly eye catching with metallics being a common theme of catwalks recently.
